Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills, NSW, Pleasant Chinese Restaurant 悅順菜館 offers an authentic taste of Chinese cuisine that will delight both locals and visitors alike. This charming eatery specializes in Cantonese-style dishes, showcasing rich, savoury flavours delivered with impeccable wok hei—the breath of the wok that imbues every dish with its signature smoky essence.

The menu is a vibrant celebration of classic and creative dishes. Don’t miss the Satay Chicken with Rice, where tender chicken pieces are bathed in a fragrant, mildly spicy peanut sauce that perfectly complements the fluffy rice. Equally enticing is the Braised Beef Brisket & Tendon with Chu Hou Sauce and Rice, a soul-warming option that melts in your mouth, layered with complex, umami-packed flavors. For those seeking something lighter yet nourishing, the Braised Tofu & Fish Fillet with Rice offers a delicate balance of textures and tastes.

Adventurous diners will also appreciate the new menu additions such as the delicate Xiao Long Bao—soup dumplings bursting with flavour—and the satisfying Wonton Noodles served piping hot. The Freshly Boiled Congee with Crispy Perch Fillet is another standout, perfect for a comforting meal whether it’s breakfast or dinner.

The atmosphere at Pleasant Chinese Restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy, family-style feel that makes every guest feel instantly welcomed. The staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring your dining experience is pleasant from the moment you step inside. Amidst the bustling environment, dishes arrive hot and beautifully presented, reflecting the kitchen’s dedication to quality and efficiency.

Regular patrons rave about the generous portions and consistently fresh ingredients. As one customer, Cindy Li, puts it, “The food is consistently delicious — fresh ingredients, generous portions, and authentic flavours that remind me of home.” Another diner, Katie Lau, praises their affordable yet filling lunch specials, “The eggplant dish had a lot of wok hei and was super tasty,” she says, highlighting the perfect balance of flavour and value Pleasant delivers.

For families, the restaurant’s lighter, less oily options ensure that even the little ones enjoy their meals, making it a go-to spot for a health-conscious yet flavorful outing. The creative vegetarian suckling pig and pumpkin-sauced prawn dishes mentioned by long-time patron Y S also showcase the kitchen’s innovative skill, blending tradition with modern flair.

I tried their lunch special and it was pretty delicious. The eggplant dish had a lot of wok hei and was super tasty. I was very full for a lunch and it was only $15 which is really affordable. Would definitely go back.

We’ve been back to this new restaurant multiple times, all thanks to a friend’s recommendation, and it never disappoints! They have something really unique: the vegetarian suckling pig. Yes, no real pig involved! Cute and packed with flavour, very creative. Other standout dishes are the prawn and fried mantou in pumpkin sauce—just the right balance of sweetness and savory; the beef cheeks were juicy and tender; and the XO pipi with rice cake. So tasty, the rice cakes were soft and chewy, and the XO sauce was just perfect. The fried chicken here is always a hit—tasty and juicy. And I can’t get enough of their fresh, crunchy green vegetables, which are light but flavorful. Another favorite is the tofu hotpot with chicken and mix seafood, where the squid is both sweet and tender, but still with a satisfying crunch. Lastly, the fried vermicelli noodles have that undeniable “wok hey” flavor that makes everything taste just right. Every time, I leave feeling full, satisfied. Looking forward to our next visit to try their other dishes.

I finally caught up with some girlfriends who did the Annapurna Base Camp trek together last Christmas! We picked a newly opened restaurant in Beverly Hills and enjoyed a cosy, home-style meal. My favourite dish was the salted egg yolk prawns, totally hit the spot for my salted egg yolk cravings. We went with a set menu and added a few extra dishes on the side. They also have a “secret menu” based on what’s fresh and in season, a bit like omakase, where you get the best ingredients of the moment. We didn’t realise we ordered two salt-and-pepper dishes clearly too caught up in our post-trip chats! There's another dish I would love to try next time, stir-fried beef cubes with foie gras. 1⃣ Salted egg yolk prawns 2⃣ Fish sauce chicken 3⃣ Salt and pepper squid 4⃣ Eggplant with garlic sauce 5⃣ Salt and pepper pork ribs 6⃣ Sweet and sour pork

Great restaurant, reasonable prices , Hong Kong owners we spoke in Cantonese throughout the night. I treated my parents to this meal. We ordered mud crab, wasabi beef and hand shredded chicken with jellyfish. I guess it will look more aesthetic if the crab was on top of the Vercelli but the portion size was huge so I’m happy They are a relatively new restaurant in the very competitive Beverly Hills Chinese restaurant strip however I’m happy to come back here again as the food tasted really good and the price is really reasonable. Great value.
